Your metabolism isn’t broken. Your hormones are.

Your metabolism isn’t broken. Your hormones are.

Here’s what’s actually keeping your weight stuck.

If you’ve been doing everything “right” for years—eating clean, exercising, trying all the strategies—and your weight still won’t move, I want you to hear this:

Your metabolism isn’t broken. It’s responding exactly as it’s supposed to — to a body running on imbalanced hormones.

This is the part almost no one is teaching. You can’t out-diet a hormonal problem. You can’t out-exercise it. You can’t supplement your way past it. Because your hormones are what decide whether your body burns or stores what you eat. And until those hormones are in balance, nothing else you do is going to work.

Here are the four hormone imbalances I see in nearly every woman who comes to me convinced her metabolism is broken. These four are the actual problem.

1. Insulin resistance.

Roughly 88% of the population is insulin resistant. When your cells stop responding to insulin, your body locks into fat-storage mode and won’t let go. Carbs get shuttled straight into fat tissue instead of being used for energy. You get hungrier, more tired, and you gain weight no matter how clean you eat. This single imbalance is the most common driver of stuck weight— and it’s almost never tested for.

2. Estrogen dominance from poor liver function.

When your liver can’t clear estrogen properly — and most women’s livers can’t — estrogen builds up in your body and tells it to hold onto weight, especially around the middle. The same imbalance drives PMS, perimenopause symptoms, mood swings, and a higher risk of female cancers. A sluggish liver doesn’t just mean you can’t lose weight. It means your entire hormone system is backed up.

3. Systemic inflammation from high stress hormones.

Chronic stress drives chronic inflammation. Inflammation drives insulin resistance. Insulin resistance drives weight gain. Around and around it goes. As long as your body is on fire on the inside, your metabolism can’t function the way it’s supposed to. It’s defending you, not optimizing you.

4. Burned-out adrenals from a lifetime of stress.

Your adrenals make most of your hormones in your 40s and 50s. When they’re depleted, your hormone production drops, your body goes into protect-and-store mode, and your metabolism crashes. This is why women in perimenopause feel like their bodies suddenly turned on them. Their adrenals gave out years before, and now there’s nothing supporting the hormone load they need.

Insulin resistance. Estrogen dominance. Inflammation. Adrenal exhaustion.

That’s the recipe. That’s what’s actually behind the weight that won’t move, the cravings you can’t kick, the energy crashes, and the body that doesn’t feel like yours anymore.

Your metabolism isn’t broken. It’s responding to a body that needs help.

And the good news is this—every one of these imbalances is addressable. None of this is permanent. And it’s exactly what we’re going to be working on together starting May 28 inside Reclaim Your Hormones.

I’ll be teaching the foundations—the same ones that bring these systems back into balance. And then we go deeper with three of the most respected hormone experts I know:

Reclaim Your Hormones
• Dr. Jade Teta on hunger hormones and restoring metabolism
• Becca Holland on stress hormones and adrenal burnout
• Dr. Carrie Jones on HRT, testing, and targeted support—who it’s right for, who it’s not, and how to know

This all takes place inside my Inner Circle, which is open now. Doors close May 18 at midnight—or sooner if we fill, which they typically do.

If you’ve spent years believing your metabolism is broken, I want you to hear this clearly: it’s not. Your body has been communicating with you the entire time.

Now it’s time to finally understand what it’s been asking for.
