Emotions and Our Relationship with Food – with Lisa Schlosberg

“If you’re eating when your body is not physically hungry, it doesn’t mean the hunger isn’t real, it just means the hunger isn’t physical.”
-Lisa Schlosberg

Read that twice!

Do you ever feel like a bottomless pit?
Do you feel like you have no control around food and like it consumes you 24/7?
Do you often experience hunger right after you’ve eaten?
Do you experience uncontrollable cravings?
Do you feel like you need something sweet after every meal you eat?

Super common.

Do you ever look in the mirror and not like what you see?
Do you tend to criticize the same areas of your body over and over again?
Do you struggle with loving your body and accepting it exactly the way it is right now?
Are you continually trying to change your body? Shrink it?
Do you feel like you’ll be happier when you achieve a certain weight?

Super common.

Do you struggle with being fully present when you’re eating?
Do you multitask when you eat (look at your phone, text a friend, read something, watch TV, etc.)?
Are you guilty of eating on the run?
Have you ever experienced restrict and binge cycles?
Do you use food to soothe or escape?
Do you associate food with comfort?
Do you feel like no matter how much you eat, you’re always still hungry?

Super common.

All of the above is connected and has one big common denominator = REPRESSED EMOTIONS  – AKA NERVOUS SYSTEM DYSREGULATION.
