Merry Christmas!

The holiday season is in full force, and for many, this can lead to feelings of exhaustion, burnout, and being rundown. Here’s how to avoid letting this happen. It’s so easy to slip into depleting habits like overextending ourselves, neglecting our need to hydrate and nourish, consuming too much sugar and alcohol, and not taking the time to slow down and process our emotions.

Here are some tips on how to have the healthiest Christmas of your life:
  1. Make sure you’re taking the time to hydrate and nourish your body. When things get busy, it’s easy to let these simple yet important things go out the window.
  2. Be mindful of sugar and alcohol consumption. Nothing compromises the immune system more than a big dose of sugar or alcohol.
  3. Make sure to take time to get your own needs met. This may mean taking a walk, sitting by the fire, reading a book, getting outside for a walk, or visiting with an old friend. Make time to fill your cup.
  4. Take time to process emotions. Being around friends and family means extra accumulation of emotions. However, when emotions are not processed, they get stored in the body and trigger the fight or flight nervous system. Take time to process and FEEL all that is coming up for you.
  5. Don’t fall into the trap of doing too many things. Quality over quantity. You want to be able to enjoy these times and be present in your life, not stressed and frazzled like the other 95% of the world. LOL.

Sending you a warm hug and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
